Monrovia — Deputy Minister for Public Affairs at the Ministry of Information, Hon. Daniel Sando, has described former President George Weah’s recent conduct as “irresponsible,” amid a growing exchange of statements between political figures.
Sando’s remarks come in response to comments attributed to the former president, who recently claimed that he paid hospital bills for President Joseph Boakai during the period when Boakai was in opposition.
“Isn’t it disappointing that the former leader of our country continues to conduct himself in such an embarrassing and irresponsible manner?” Sando said in a statement.
The latest comments signal an intensifying war of words between supporters of President Boakai and loyalists of former President Weah, with both sides trading accusations in public.
Observers say the exchanges reflect rising political tensions as narratives surrounding past actions and personal support continue to surface in the public discourse.
There has been no immediate response from former President Weah regarding Sando’s latest remarks.
