Monrovia, April 9, 2026 — The National Housing Authority (NHA) on Wednesday received the Chief Executive Officer of TAF Africa Global Limited, Mr. Mustapha Njie, who is in Liberia to explore large-scale investment opportunities in the country’s housing sector.
Mr. Njie’s visit forms part of a broader engagement with key government stakeholders aimed at assessing prospects for expanding affordable housing and modern urban development in Liberia.
Prior to his engagement with the NHA, the TAF Africa CEO held high-level discussions with President Joseph Nyuma Boakai at the Executive Mansion, signaling growing interest from international investors in Liberia’s real estate sector.
Speaking during the meeting, Mr. Njie expressed readiness to begin work, citing the government’s openness to partnership as a strong incentive.
“My boots are already on the ground, the President’s willingness to partner is a clear signal,” he said, when asked about the potential commencement of projects.
The meeting brought together senior government officials, including NHA Managing Director Florence K. Geegbae, representatives of the Liberia Land Authority, and the President’s Special Envoy on Investment.
Mr. Njie disclosed that his team is working to conclude consultations with key stakeholders including government agencies and financial institutions before the end of the week.
At the NHA, discussions centered on Liberia’s growing housing deficit. Madam Geegbae highlighted the scale of the challenge, noting that the country requires approximately 4,891 housing units annually, with an estimated shortfall nearing 52,000 units by 2030.
She described the situation as urgent, stressing the need for sustained government and private sector collaboration to address the deficit.
For his part, Mr. Njie underscored his motivation for engaging with Liberia, describing the visit as both timely and purposeful.
“It is development that brought me here to Liberia. I have received several invitations before, but I believe this is the right time,” he noted.
TAF Africa Global Limited, which operates in Nigeria, The Gambia, and Sierra Leone, is known for developing green housing estates, gated communities, and modern residential infrastructure. The company has announced plans to construct one million homes across Africa.
If finalized, the proposed investment is expected to significantly strengthen Liberia’s housing sector, particularly in the areas of affordable housing, smart city development, and sustainable infrastructure expansion.
