Political Analyst Kiatamba Blasts Opposition as Weak, Ineffective, and Disorganized

By Emmanuel Kamanda

MONROVIA – Political analyst Abdullah Kiatamba has criticized Liberia’s opposition, describing it as weak, ineffective, and largely absent from major national debates under the administration of President Joseph Boakai.

Speaking on the current political climate, Kiatamba said the opposition has failed to demonstrate the level of engagement that existed during the administration of former President George Weah.

“Unlike the opposition under the Weah administration, which was more active and engaged with current issues at the time, the opposition now is not robust, as everyone seems to be spectating the happenings,” he said.

According to Kiatamba, opposition parties have become mere observers rather than active participants in shaping public discourse and holding the government accountable.

“They are now spectators. Boakai-era opposition lacks robustness,” he asserted.

The analyst further accused opposition leaders of failing to organize and mobilize citizens around key national issues, including debates over the presidential villa project, legislative controversies, and other governance matters.

“They keep watching instead of challenging government policies,” Kiatamba added.

His comments have reignited discussions about the effectiveness of Liberia’s opposition and its role in promoting accountability and democratic governance.
