Monrovia, April 28, 2026 – Yesterday, the Republic of Liberia welcomed over 200 international visitors aboard the Silversea cruise ship in Monrovia. This marks the second cruise ship arrival at the Freeport of Monrovia in less than five days. The guests traveled to experience Liberia’s authentic heritage and culture firsthand.
Following their arrival, they embarked on a curated historical tour across key heritage sites in the capital. The tour began at Ducor Hill and continued to the J. J. Roberts Monument, then to the National Museum of Liberia in the heart of Monrovia. From there, they proceeded to the Providence Baptist Church, where the Declaration of Independence was signed, and onward to the Centennial Pavilion. The visitors also toured Providence Island, where they were warmly welcomed by the Liberia National Culture Troupe.
The Silversea cruise ship, Silver Wind, is known for organizing trips that focus on authentic, immersive experiences, giving travelers the opportunity to learn about the history, traditions, and daily life of destinations around the world. The vessel originally embarked from Walvis Bay, with its immediate previous port being Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. Following its departure from Liberia, the Silver Wind will continue to Freetown, Sierra Leone.
